I am sorry it read that way, as that was not my intention.

RCSignals wrote:I could say 'how does ranting about him make a difference here?"

Go after him with everything you can. Maybe confront his provider with your filmjackets trade mark?
Register for a notice when his domain registration for this is about to expire. Maybe you'll get lucky and he'll be late or forget to renew.

I'm sorry he's done this, at least his site so far isn't showing at the top of internet searches for filmjackets.

Do you know who this person is?

As far as the ranting? I am doing that because I am pissed. This site was the brainchild of Mike and myself. We have the best members of any site I belong to - or ever have belonged to. I am hoping that the members here will read my rant and realize that there is no affiliation. I cannot tell you how many questions we get asking us about making a jacket like the one on eBay, but with such and such a modification. The confusion is completely understandable and intentional on the part of HollywoodJackets.

Your other ideas are good ones, but I doubt there will be any forgetting. Some stuff is being worked on in the background, but I have limited time at my disposal. He has made this personal by stealing our name and as such it was taken personally. I am generally an even tempered, mild-mannered patient guy, but I do not like being fucked with one bit.

And again, I apologize for the surliness.

Rick I fully understand your ranting, and your frustration with this guy.
What he did and how he did it is blatant in your face.
He has put up a billboard for his jacket company that is clear, it's all that is there.
I highly doubt anyone here would confuse it with filmjackets, Filmjackets isn't about creating single filmjackets urls to push single vendors.

I do hope you have success bringing it down.

Copy is stolen ! I speak of the name of a website or a forum of course.
FILMJACKETS.COM is and must be the only one to have the right to own that name !
Rick, I hope that your complaint really lead :?

You know Rick, I have my dual citizenship with the UK and pop in there from time to time. If one were properly motivated with, say, an original M229, large, in screen accurate color, one might see their way to making sure these guys catch a cold. Hypothetically, that is. Uh, wink wink?

Meh, worth a shot. At the very least I can pass by and take a big old steaming dump in their doorway.

Help me un-confuse myself here.

Is this thread about Hollywood Jackets or FilmJackets?

Is it the same company as this vendor in the UK?

http://www.hollywoodjackets.co.uk/

They don't seem to make any mention of FilmJackets, so perhaps it's a different bunch?
