"The Terminator" Jacket

We have all had those defining moments when we noticed a film personality on the silver screen wearing a fantastic leather jacket. Or maybe you fell in love with James Dean’s iconic red windbreaker. You thought it looked so great and you knew someday you would have one just like it. This is a forum to discuss those jackets.

I agree. Very, very cool choices. I think that it came out looking great after the wash. Has a ton of personality to it.
Do you think this is the same exact leather used in their X2, though?

Great looking jacket, Patterson! Love the color of the hardware Bates used.

It already looks broken in and has some personality to it.

That is a really nice fitting jacket Patterson. I like the nerd(Cyclops)-nod on the Oakley's though. I would've said the same about the Gargoyles if Stunts didn't.

Is it an illusion or does the jacket have a widow's peak back yoke and a seam down the back?

Patterson wrote:Nope - you're dead-on. That was a mod I asked for, i.e. no seam down the back. That bugs me on any jacket and was a mod I had in the XO wolverine as well. For some reason it says "I cut corners making this jacket" to me.

Don't like a middle backseam at all either. Offsets the balance.

I agree on seams down the back, really don't like it at all unless it is a very obvious part of the jacket design.

But what about the back yoke? Does it curve to a downward point at the center?

So did the original have a pointed yoke? That one pic RCS reposted always made me think so but it's definitely not conclusive.

So, is this a Schott 125? I just picked up the Museum Replicas version for super cheap and it is really nice and well made. Not sure what size Arnold was in this film. A 50 maybe? Was thinking of picking up a larger one (than the one I got) for a display.

Wow! Well, that explains why it's so similar to the T2 jacket with all the lacings and back panel shape. Awesome. I'll have to be on the lookout for one on eBay as I'd like an original as well.

I just rewatched this movie..............on VHS yesterday, I could actually easily see the back seam despite the bad picture. The jacket looks great, the red motorcycle not so mutch...

What is this "VHS" you speak of? :wtf: Yeah, I never took new screen captures for this film. It definitely has a pointed yoke AND a back seam. You can have it made by Bates without the seam, but I think that costs extra.
