"The Dark Knight" Bruce Wayne Jacket

We have all had those defining moments when we noticed a film personality on the silver screen wearing a fantastic leather jacket. Or maybe you fell in love with James Dean’s iconic red windbreaker. You thought it looked so great and you knew someday you would have one just like it. This is a forum to discuss those jackets.

Can someone tell me what the "specs" are of the Belstaff DK jacket? As in, what is the leather type, dying process and finish? Is it waxed? Is it full-grain cow hide? What is the best way to clean this particular jacket? Has anyone here who owns one of these cleaned the jacket? Which products did you use? Were they effective?

I am basically looking for something to remove mothball odor and restore the natural aroma of the jacket and also clean the leather and liner, without doing any damage to the jacket.

Also, can someone please comment on the fit of this jacket? How was it designed to fit? It seems the shoulder seams are in an unusual space, lower down on the arms. Is the body generally cut a little wider across the back?

Thanks for the help on this!

I could help a little bit on that : no, the jacket is not waxed...full leather.

Yes, I also find it is a large jacket regarding shoulder area....I've got an XL and usually wear M or L. The jacket fits fine on every aspects but the model is large on shoulders measurement and effectively, shoulder seams are low on the upper arms !!! You can resolve that problem by taking a jacket one size smaller but maybe it will be more tight on you !!

Thanks!

Yeah, it's unusual...the jacket fits perfectly around the waist, the length is right on, even the sleeve length is perfect (long enough to reach without exposing wrists). It's just across the back, it's a touch too wide, leaving a bit of material bunched up behind the armpit area when standing in a relaxed posture...it's as if the jacket it cut for someone with a V-shaped torso, a narrow waist and broad shoulders...a super hero's figure, if you will.

I am 188 cm and 93 kg athletic fit and I recently got a Dark Knight XXL. The jacket fits very well except for the shoulders. There could be 1 cm less for perfect fit but I will not complain. The lining is relatively thick and it's ok if you wear more than a t-shirt.

That is a fake and an awful one at that. There is absolutely never been a center seam on the back of that jacket and the details are way off, especially in its dimensions.

Steer clear brother, if you’re looking for an original there are at least three on eBay at the moment.
