Wow, you guys are AMAZING. I was looking for the jacket, and found this message board thread on google. I really want to get this jacket, it looks awesome, and if you can get it reproduced, I'd be very interested!

It just so happens that I am in the process of having the jacket made as we speak. If you have not read about my trip to Vanson Leathers, I recommend that you start there. That is where it will begin for you if you want to have a House, M.D. jacket. They made the original.

From what I understand - since each jacket is custom-made, it takes about 6-8 weeks. I ordered my jacket during the visit there on June 9, 2007 so I should expect the jacket in mid-August sometime, if this is accurate. Perfect time of the year to get a leather jacket.

If you are from the area, I would suggest dropping by Vanson Leathers in person since the jackets run tighter than you may be used to. For instance, I take a 40 in a regular jacket and I fit into a 42 jacket from Vanson. They are more true to form as they are basically motorcycle jackets - and motorcyclists do not need all that leather flapping around.

Of course, the base jacket comes without the arm stripes. You will need to add the "Star" jacket arm stripe option.

I am still working on the patches. If anyone here is proficient with Photoshop and can make a clean template for the Velodyne patch and the RTAI Sports patch, contact me by PM and we can work something out...

Thanks "MAN"! I went to your site. Love the jackets. Could not determine if they came with the patches though? Do they? Would be perfect for me. I had already contacted Vanson directly about the jacket itself, thinking I'd have to figure something out to get those patches, then found the Film jacket website and the patches discussion. When you responded with your website, it seemed that you might have done everything, but it is not clear from the site. I email your offices via the contact us, but wanted to also let you know I was interested here. Thanks again!

I am not sure what Dan has up his sleeve, but I am working on the two main patches right now. The Velodyne patch and the RTAI/KTAI Sports patch.

These should look accurate on a size 40 - 46 jacket. I will have more information very soon.

I have contacted three different "Velodyne" companies - the closest match being Velodyne Acoustics, Inc. who have a remarkably similar font, but a different logo.

This patch does not belong to them so I am going to reproduce it. The KTAI/RTAI patch was changed during the same episode for reasons yet unknown and this also has to be made. As you may have read, the KTAI intials are most popularly used already by the Kite Trade Association International.

I also thought it might be radio station call letters, but the only match I could find was in Kingsville, TX. It is not a "Sports" format.

While obviously, the original KTAI patch is preferred, I am reproducing the RTAI patches. I should know in a couple of weeks. If these turn out fairly decently, I will be making the "Energy Station Custom" patch next.

I am hoping to scour the season 3 DVDs for better screenshots of this patch.

This jacket comes from vanson without patches for now (just the arm stripes added on the model B)... I've discussed this with vanson already and for extra can get them done with the leather patches but that wouldn't be as accurate.
I have another source I'm speaking with for getting patches done, but since Rick has already started this route I don't want to steal his thunder... 8)

Brian, the cool thing about the patches is you just add them to the jacket when you get them... that means you can at least order the jacket now (like Rick did) and then by the time you get the jacket the patches will be all sorted out.

Dan, I'd prefer to have you add the patches and get the thing done right.

Yep, I just checked on the cost for another UK customer. $45 US to ship to the UK.
